Chewable Vitamins vs. Pills to Swallow: What Are the Benefits of Chewable Vitamins?

When choosing an Immunity booster, do you chew or swallow?! Evidence suggests that chewables are the most effective supplements. We investigated why...

1 Better absorption
The cheek and area under the tongue have many capillaries, or tiny blood vessels and chewing rather than swallowing a supplement means it can be absorbed directly into the bloodstream without going through your digestive system. Chewing also exposes your food (and chewables) to saliva which contains digestive enzymes that break it down—the longer you chew, the more opportunity these enzymes have to work.

2 Don’t make a meal of it
Most pill-form vitamins are recommended to be taken with food because if they’re consumed alone, they may not digest as well, cause nausea or heartburn. A chewable can be taken with or without food so you don’t have to remember to take it at mealtimes.

3 A less bitter pill to swallow
If you have a hard time swallowing tablets or capsules, (children definitely do) as they make you gag or you don’t like the unpleasant taste of a capsule starting to dissolve in your mouth, chewables are ideal and can actually even taste good.
Leapfrog Immune chewable tablet is a smart new supplement that works in sync with our bodies' own mechanisms. It is crammed with known cold-fighting, immune-supporting Vitamin C, Zinc and the lesser known, Lactoferrin, a protein with potent antiviral and antibacterial properties. With a stack of peer-reviewed scientific data to back it up, lactoferrin is produced naturally in the body, your ‘surveillance squad’, ready to neutralise or suppress pathogens as they appear. A virus is most commonly spread by droplet transmission when an infected person coughs or sneezes on you, and it’s the lactoferrin in your system (in your own eyes, nose and mouth) that gets to work to prevent its entry into your healthy cells.

Leapfrog’s lactoferrin is sourced from milk produced by cows that enjoy an all-natural diet and the crack team of scientists, doctors and experts in the fields of immunomodulation, nutrition, pharmacy, formulation and wellness at Leapfrog, like us, believe in the powerful synergy of science and nature. Lactoferrin is Nature’s Remedy™️, but Leapfrog has formulated it with extra goodies for additional benefits which is why we had to include it in our Good To Go Set.
